    Seqwater Chief Executive Officer Peter Dennis has been named one of Australia’s Top 100 Most Influential Engineers 2014 by Engineers Australia magazine.

    The list, which appears in the June edition of the magazine, highlights the influence of outstanding engineers across a broad range of industry sectors.

    As CEO of Seqwater, Mr Dennis is responsible for ensuring a safe, secure and reliable bulk drinking water supply for more than three million people across South East Queensland.

    South East Queensland’s bulk water authority Seqwater has welcomed the release of WaterQ, the Queensland Government’s 30 year strategy for Queensland’s water sector.

    Seqwater Chief Executive Officer Peter Dennis said the strategy aligned with Seqwater’s five-year organisational strategy, which is focused on supplying affordable drinking water for one of Australia’s fastest growing regions and delivering a long-term plan to ensure South East Queensland’s future water needs are met.

    Holiday-makers and day-trippers are urged to be ‘DAM smart’ on and around South East Queensland dams over the June-July school holidays.

    Seqwater Chief Executive Officer Peter Dennis said Seqwater would work with the Queensland Police Service to conduct patrols around the region’s major dams to enforce safe and responsible behaviour on and off the water.

    Mr Dennis said the unseasonably warmer winter weather provided an ideal opportunity for the community and tourists to visit South East Queensland dams during the June-July school holidays.

    Seqwater Chief Executive Officer Peter Dennis has extended his congratulations to all recipients of this year’s Healthy Waterways Awards.

    Thirteen category winners were announced at a gala dinner in Brisbane on Friday night.

    Mr Dennis said Seqwater was a proud sponsor of the awards, which honoured those who helped to protect and improve South East Queensland’s waterways.

    “Many individuals, groups and organisations contribute to making a positive difference to the region’s waterways,” he said.
