    As part of our ongoing fire management program on Seqwater-owned land, from Thursday 24 June 2014, surveyors will be on site at Leslie Harrison Dam looking at fire trail alignments around the dam.

    Seqwater Chief Executive Officer Peter Dennis has extended his congratulations to all recipients of this year’s Healthy Waterways Awards.

    Thirteen category winners were announced at a gala dinner in Brisbane on Friday night.

    Mr Dennis said Seqwater was a proud sponsor of the awards, which honoured those who helped to protect and improve South East Queensland’s waterways.

    “Many individuals, groups and organisations contribute to making a positive difference to the region’s waterways,” he said.

  • Paddling permitted at Lake Kurwongbah from 8 September 2014

    Following community feedback to our review of recreation at lakes Samsonvale and Kurwongbah, Lake Kurwongbah will be opened to paddling on Monday 8 September 2014.

    Over the coming months, a paddle craft wash down facility and launch point will be established at Mick Hanfling Park. The wash down facility will help prevent the spread of cabomba, an aquatic weed present in the lake.

    There will be hazard reduction burns taking place on the eastern side of Lake Wivenhoe, at Billies Bay and Hays Landing, on Tuesday 24 June 2014.

    Recreation areas will remain open, though you may see smoke in surrounding areas.

    Please observe any signage in the area and follow the directions of Seqwater staff.

  • Recreation area closures - Lake Moogerah and Lake Maroon

    From Monday 23 June until Monday 30 June 2014, parts of the recreation area at Lake Maroon and small areas of Haigh Park at Lake Moogerah will be closed for construction and maintenance works.

    The works will improve facilities and access at each site.

    All visitors are requested to observe the signs in place at both sites and follow the directions of Seqwater staff.
