GATED DAMS:

Wivenhoe Dam

Controlled, flood releases from Wivenhoe Dam began at 5pm on Tuesday 11 March 2025 due heavy rainfall caused by ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred.

These releases will be made as the flows in the Brisbane River from Lockyer Creek and Bremer River recede and in accordance with the Manual of Operational Procedures for Flood Mitigation for Somerset Dam and Wivenhoe Dam.

Somerset Dam

Flood releases from Somerset into Wivenhoe Dam have commenced and will potentially continue throughout the week.

Releases from Somerset Dam into Wivenhoe Dam are common to balance the lake levels across the dams.

North Pine Dam

Flood releases began at 3am on Sunday 9 March 2025.

Releases, combined with river and creek flows downstream of the dam, have impacted Youngs Crossing Road which is now closed.

If you are downstream of the dam, stay away from fast flowing or deep water near waterways and floodplains.
