Boating and paddling

Boating and paddling are popular activities at South East Queensland dams and lakes. If you’re planning on taking a vessel out on one of the lakes in South East Queensland, make sure you know:

  • which lakes allow boating and paddling access
  • what type of boating activities are permitted
  • where boat ramps and launch points are located
  • what safety equipment and information you need for your activity.

All activities on South East Queensland lakes are covered by the Boating Regulations set by Maritime Safety Queensland

Our recreation map will help you to plan ahead and find the perfect site for your next visit. Be sure to check our recreation and safety notices before heading out to ensure lakes are open for paddling and boating.
