Dam release update

GATED DAMS:
Seqwater Flood Operations Centre is at the STAND UP activation level.
Wivenhoe Dam:
Controlled flood releases from Wivenhoe Dam began at 5:00pm on Tuesday 11 March due heavy rainfall caused by ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
Somerset Dam:
Flood releases from Somerset Dam into Wivenhoe Dam stopped at 11:00am on Thursday 13 March.
North Pine Dam:
Flood releases from North Pine have stopped at 11:00am on Wednesday 12 March, with operational releases continuing.
If you are downstream of the dams, stay away from fast flowing or deep water near waterways and floodplains.
UN-GATED DAMS:
Due to recent rain in the catchment area, the following ungated dams are spilling excess water:
- Bill Gunn Dam
- Borumba Dam
- Cedar Pocket Dam
- Cooloolabin Dam
- Lake Macdonald Dam
- Lake Manchester Dam
- Leslie Harrison Dam
- Little Nerang Dam
- Nindooinbah Dam
- Sideling Creek Dam
- Wappa Dam
Due to continuing rain in the catchment area, outflows have increased from the following dams.
- Baroon Pocket Dam
- Enoggera Dam
- Ewen Maddock Dam
- Gold Creek Dam
- Hinze Dam
- Maroon Dam
- Moogerah Dam
- Wyaralong Dam
Avoid potential hazards downstream of the dams such as fast flowing or deep water near waterways and floodplains.
Dam release notification service
Seqwater provides a free dam release notification service that provides subscribers with notifications by email, text messages to mobile phones or recorded messages to telephone landlines when dam releases are occurring.
