Seqwater is engaging a specialist company to capture aerial imagery of The Spit Recreation Area, Kirkleagh Day Use Area (including the adjoining campground – Lake Somerset Holiday Park), the day stop off area and Camp Somerset via drones and satellite between December 2023 to May 2024.

Our purpose is to survey the number of boats operating on the lake, as well as the number of vehicles accessing the public recreation areas over the warmer months of the year.

The imagery will be captured from a height so that no person can be identifiable in the imagery. We will minimise noise and other impacts wherever possible.

No closures are expected from this work.
